Hey guys, I hope everyone is doing great and had a good week. As Promised, I have an update from my last journal about my broken leg and the Tumor they removed from my right arm. Thanks to everyone for all the kind words and super positive energy you gave me. All my DA buds and family help keep me strong with my battle against the cancer.
It's now been a little over two weeks since I broke my leg, I just saw the Doc to go over everything. They took new X-rays and say it's mending great, but he wants me to stay off it for a few more weeks because my bones are still weak from the years worth of chemo. This way the bone can mend better before I put my prosthetic leg back on. He also removed the staples from the leg, I was surprised to see how many there were, It was over 60 staples he had in the leg. The incision where he cut my leg open looks great and is healing perfectly he said. In the new X-rays, they showed me the metal rods they implanted in my femur bone and hip, they look good and are giving me no problems. The top of the rod is implanted into my ball joint of the hip and then another rod runs down my femur bone and is attached to that by 3 screws.
He also removed the 20 staples from my right arm where they removed the Tumor. It's healed great also. The arm is still a little sore because of the removal of the Tumor and it being attached to some muscle and veins, but it gets better each day. They think since the tumor was on the inner part of the arm where I'm always bending it, that could be one of the reasons it hadn't responded to the chemo like the 6 other tumors I have. The Tumor itself did end up being a sarcoma tumor like the others, we had hoped it was just a fatty tissue tumor, but it was a sarcoma Tumor, but it's out and it doesn't matter anymore because it can no longer cause harm.
Once I have time to heal up from the operation and they feel the bone is fully mended, I'll start the chemo again for the 6 other remaining tumors, but like I mentioned before in the previous update, those tumors have continued to shrink and have responded great to the chemo. So it's just a matter of time before I have the new operations to remove them and chalk up another victory in my ongoing 4yr battle with this cancer. This will be my 6th battle with the cancer, but like the 5 other battles with it, I'm going to Win and be one step closer to total victory!
The operation on my Leg and arm mark the 7th time I've been operated on for the removal of a Tumor, which seems like a lot, but each of these operations serve their purpose in the ongoing war and along with the chemo put me closer to victory. The chemo has made the amputated bone in my right leg weak, but since I'm on a break from the chemo, I'm getting stronger each day. I'm taking a lot of vitamin D and other supplements to strengthen my bones.
I wont let the cancer to slow me down, so you guys can expect to see a lot more art from me soon. As I mentioned before, my hard drive on my computer crashed and I lost a lot of unsaved work, which sucked big time, especially the commissions I lost, but I'm slowly catching up and you guys will see them soon along with some other new art.
Plus I'm going to have a few upcoming contest and giveaways to thank you guys for the support. I'll be posting my Duck Dodgers image soon and I'll be giving away the original art to it. Anyone who is watching me and favs the image will be entered in the contest. I'll be putting the names into a bowl and then have my 4yr nephew pull out the name of a winner.
After that, I'll be posting my Mars Attack image and I'll be giving away the original artwork the same way. Anyone who is watching me and favs it will be entered into the contest to win the art. The next image I'll be giving away the original art to will be a Metroid Prime illustration. It will work the same way for any of my watchers who fav it.
Thanks again to everyone for the fantastic support and the positive vibes, you guys rock. You'll be seeing the Duck Dodgers and the other art soon. I hope everyone likes the idea of winning some of my original artwork. Duck Dodgers, Mars attacks and Metroid Prime are some of my favs, so the artwork is something I did for fun and put a lot of work into between the commissions I'm working. Well you guys let me know if these upcoming contest for the free artwork sounds fun or not. all you have to be is a watcher and fav the artwork when I post it, super easy.
And I'm sure some of you have noticed I've put the DA watermark on my artwork. I've had a lot of problems with people stealing the artwork and selling it on Ebay as posters and T-Shirts. I hate watermarks so I'm making a much smaller one to use than the big ones DA has, but I'll use them until I make the new ones. I urge everyone to check Ebay every so often, because the art so many sellers sale there seem to be stolen artwork from DA.
It's been a long 4yrs, but each day I'm closer to total victory and you guys have helped make it happen along with my family with your amazing support. It's helped me stay focused on the end battle and Like I always say, I've still got plenty of things to do and and people to piss off, so I'm not giving up. I've beaten this cancer 5 times before, so this is just another battle for me to win.
thanks a lot, I've been updating everyone since day one. I was told I only had 6-months to live and that was 4yrs ago, I just refuse to listen to the doctors who told me that, I'm fighting hard to win this war. I've been winning each of the battles and each one brings me closer to total victory. As for my computer, my brother runs a company that fixes computers, does networking and all that fun stuff, but he was unable to salvage any data sadly, I was hoping he could. As he says, it's not if your computer will stop working, but when it will, so I just have to make sure to save my date more, which I do everyday now. lol a hard lesson to learn, but it's only slowed me down, just working faster to get more work up.
I'll have more updates soon. I'm still fighting six more tumors that are scattered throughout my body. they don't stand a chance! thanks again for the support!
thanks! but all together over the 4yrs I have been fighting the cancer, I've actually have had to deal with 14 different tumors throughout that time. I had 7 tumors in this current battle, of course I just had that one tumor removed from my right arm, so that leaves 6 tumors in the current fight. I'm taking heavy amounts of chemo and then will have multiple operations and radiation. Once this war is won, I'll do what it takes to prevent the next one from happening. My current Doc is working hard to help make that happen. I have chemo for 5 days a week, 6hrs a day, which is rough, but I have one of the rarest cancers in the world and I have to fight hard to win,
Count on a lot more updates as I kick this cancer to the curb and get closer to total victory!!!
